Introduction to Zechariah

Topic: This is an introductory topic on how to extract the main idea using repetition. Repetition is literary evidence of the central theme.

Zechariah: First Vision

Topic: The Book of Zechariah starts as a dialog between the Angel of Jehova and the prophet. He has eight visions and we are going to discuss the first one.

The question that we must bear on mind is if there is any repetition of the theme and what are the main points. Can we develop a coherent description of all these visions?

Zechariah's Second Vision

Topic: After God invites the people to return and proclaims the good news that Jerusalem will be rebuilt, the construction is initiated with a measuring rod. The end of the vision reveals that God's intention is to "come in."

Zechariah's Third Vision

Topic: The angel of the Lord arrives to clean the house for the Lord, so He can dwell among his people.

Zechariah's Fourth Vision

Topic: The angel of the Lord returns to Zechariah. The prophet dreamed that he is awaken and he sees a vision of a lampstick. This lampstick is the Word of God that came to him. It has the power of the Holy Spirit and tells the prophet that the great mountain will be humbled and the day of the little things will be exalted when they see the seven lamps (the living Word of God)
